fstuff1 Posted July 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2023 (edited) I got a free cruise on Ascent next year in a P0 ov but it was sold out. i upgraded to a p2 (port hole) for $200. But the p2's on 6th floor were obstructed. So i got a p1 on the 7th floor. looking at the pics, the p0 panorama window seems bigger than a port hole? and better location (midship next to elevator) than a p1/p2 (front or aft of ship). Did i just pay for a downgrade?? ie: p0 > p1 > p2??? Edited July 17, 2023 by fstuff1
paulh84 Posted July 17, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2023 Depends on if you value the veranda or a floor to ceiling window. A panoramic OV is essentially an Infinite Veranda that doesn’t open. The opening/window itself would be larger in the PO.

jelayne Posted July 17, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2023 Here is a photo of the Porthole View with Veranda. Look at the Ascent on the webside and go through the accommodation section to see photos of the cabins.

A P1 or P2 has an actual veranda. It's just a bit more enclosed with a huge circle view. P1 are in a better location. A lot of the P2s are directly above the theater so could be loud at night during shows.

The P2, P1 are a totally different category than the PO (O as in ocean view...not zero). The PO is an Infinite Veranda that does not open. The P1 and P1 are veranda cabins that have a porthole cutout. Sometimes called hull or cove balconies on other lines. The P1 and P2 both have traditional sliding doors that open out to a small balcony. The PO has fixed floor to ceiling window with no veranda. This is the PO: https://youtu.be/aScUdeR3xwg This is a P1/P2: https://youtu.be/7naAQNtbFDs The difference between P1 and P2 is location. P2's are on deck 6. P1's can be on 7, 8 or 9. You will be far forward or far aft in either a P1 or P2.
TourDeCruise Posted July 23, 2023 #8 Share Posted July 23, 2023 There is a recent post on the aft cabins near Eden. We prefer aft but there could be some noise at night if cabin is aft on deck 6 or 7. We have been aft on deck 10 on Beyond and it was not noisy. Supposedly, noise (bass sound) is over by midnight.
