Travel companions booked excursion with their cc.  We have lots of On board credit.  Is there anyway to use that credit for these excursions?

change once onboard? Etc?

you have to wait until you're onboard to use the sailor loot on excursions, and if you book ahead, you need to cancel a bit of time before the voyage (24 or 48 hours) in order to get that back on your cc.  otherwise it just gets refunded as sailor loot, so you're back at square one.

you can wait totally until you're on, but then you run the risk of them getting sold out.  you could also book ahead, cancel right before that refund deadline and hope no one books it in that short time between you cancelling and getting on.

OR you can book now with your cc and use your sailor loot in the casino.  i've had pretty decent luck getting at least 70 cents on the dollar.  there's no "fee" for turning loot into casino promotional $, but you have to go to the cashier, select if you want slots or chips (or both), and play through all the promotional $.  you can cash out all of your winnings though!

We had this situation on a recent virgin voyage and waited til boarding to look through excursions and choose from what was available. Thought it was pointless looking beforehand and wanting one only to watch it sell out by the time of voyage.

THe above is correct.  Either wait and book on board (hope what you want is available) or book in advance on credit card.  After boarding, go to the desk, cancel what you have (must be at least 24 hours in advance of the excursion), and rebook with loot.  The only negative is the possibility that someone else could grab the slot while your cancel/rebook is being performed.

There's also the chance that the price will be higher once on-board.
