wacrusr Posted July 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Viking is offering a Rainforest walk from Townsville on our November 2023 cruise down the Queensland coast. It appears that the guided walk begins at McClelland’s Lookout but there is no further information. We would like to know how long the walking distance is and what sort of terrain (looks like maintained trails in the park) and elevation gain is involved. If anyone has done this, or a similar, excursion, please share your experience. Many thanks, Wanda.
Rare lyndarra Posted July 28, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2023 This may help. https://australiatravelquestions.com/national-parks/paluma-range-national-park-queensland-walks-swimming-camping/
Suzcruz75 Posted July 28, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2023 It is a very beautiful area with several trails, swimming holes and palms itself is pretty, but not much there. I haven’t done the rainforest trail but from what I remember it’s a fairly accessible one. The link in the above post should give you more info. Please be aware it is a good trip out of Townsville to get to McClallans lookout. We live 30 minutes drive north of the port/city and it took us almost an hour to drive up there
NSWP Posted July 29, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2023 Even in November, very hot place to walk, take plenty of H20.
