What are drink vouchers? We never sailed RC

If you just want a bottle of water, will they use one of the vouchers?

Most bars have bottles water stacked up.  If you ask for one to take a pill, they'll just give you one without charging your voucher -- at least that was my experience in some of the bars we frequented.

Yes,  but unless you're not using all your vouchers for more expensive drinks it's cheaper to pay for bottled water or drink the free water provided.

BTW you can also use one of your vouchers for a 40% discount on a bottle of wine (under $100).

Someone always figures out a way around the system.

Oooh.  We are Elite on Celebrity, so I believe this translates to Diamond on RCL?

And then, how many drink certificates does this entitle us?

Terrific, make sure you contact Royal Caribbean prior to your cruise to set up a crown and anchor account. That way everything will be in order once you board.

You should  receive a letter in your cabin, noting all of your discounts/offers. If you don’t get the correspondence, call:visit the loyalty ambassador.

Enjoy.

Hi,

It is very important to make sure you tell your bar tender/dinning room staff etc that you would like to or not like to use one of your vouchers when  ordering.

RCI have re-introduced signing a slip to confirm the drink is free, but on my last cruise in May/June this year I was only asked to sign twice during a 7 night cruise with 5 free drinks a day, so that is a bit hit and miss!

To keep tabs my wife and I always have a drink at the same time and always ask the staff to take one free drink off each of our cards. However, sometimes they may accidentally or deliberately take 2 drinks off one card and no drinks off the other. You have to be careful here when it is the last drink otherwise they will charge you as one card will go over the limit, but they should also provide a slip and you should be able to see what's on it.

You can always go to guest services to rectify the problem.

I always tell them that there is just 1 drink left on each card. That normally does the job. No-one wants to spending their holiday time in a queue at Guest Services if they can avoid it.

Someone mentioned swapping drinks with others. I am not aware/sure you can do this.

I believe these vouchers can be used at any bar except the Bionic Bar on Quantum Class ships and Rising Tide on Oasis Class ships.

I have had no trouble in the MDR so far.

My wife and I always make sure we use these vouchers for something as close to the $14 value as we can.

A Kraken-Colada in the afternoon is our favourite!

And to finish the night I try what Indy on the Anthem calls a Z-Car which is a glass that is half Hennessy and half Grand Marnier - yes you can ask for that drink and goodnight!

Before the change, you only had a limited choice of drinks between 5pm and 8pm whereas now the selection is almost endless, providing they have it in stock.

Don't forget too, that just because one bar has not got it or has run out, doesn't mean another bar won't have it, unless the whole ship has none, then its a bummer!

I have seen people in the Schooner Bar queuing for ages and then being told they don't have any of that brand left, whilst next door in the Casino, they have loads of it and there is almost no queue most of the time too.

I always have a good walk round the ship and talk to the bar staff at each bar I come to and ask if they have certain drinks or can make certain cocktails and then I know where I can get what I want.

Hope that helps.

Happy cruising!

Mick.

Unlike the drink package, you can use the vouchers to buy a drink for anyone.  I've encountered many people that offered to "buy" me a drink if they're not using all their vouchers.

Using vouchers at Rising Tide is YMMV.  I had no issue using them on Oasis.

I am Diamond but haven’t cruised in about 5-6 years.  When I last cruised, I would have a couple of cocktails in the Diamond lounge before dinner, and I didn’t have to use any of the free drink electronic vouchers (I think it was three per day at the time).  Is that still the case?  Or do I have to use one of the (now four) drink vouchers to have a drink in the Diamond Lounge?

Yes you now have to use a voucher in the Diamond Lounge.

The upside of the changes is that instead of the limited diamond drink menu you can now have any drink up to $14 a drink (you pay the difference if over $14).

Also you can use your vouchers anytime, anywhere (apart from a couple of places), including the restaurants and MDR
