Akureyri....Things to do at night??

For those who have had a late stay in Akureyri.....please tell me some things to do at night.....we will be there until midnight on our upcoming cruise.

I am thinking that few cruisers will have had such a late departure, but Akureyri is a good jumping off spot for tours, and depending on whether or not it is still "Midnight Sun", try googling "evening or night tours in Akureyri" or something similarly worded.

 

Or if an evening tour doesn't appeal, try googling something like "night life in Akureyri", or similar.

 

or simply plan to dine ashore.

Good question for the TripAdvisor Akureyri forum.  I've been thru there a couple times and don't recall much "night life" but there are experts at TA who might know some secret options

I'm doing a dinner at North restaurant. It's by the same Michelin Starred chef that did Dill in Reykjavik and looks awesome. He just opened it not too long ago.

We spent several days in Akureyri for midsummer, and there were usually some low-key and friendly locals at R5. Also, Akureyri Backpackers is quite lively in the evening, and the times we were there the crowd was quite mixed in demographics (not just backpackers).

Look into the forest lagoon. It’s new in the last few years.
Open until 11:30 pm

i believe they provide a free shuttle from town 

it’s only 5 minutes out of town. 
$50 ish

I would also do Forest Lagoon. We were there in June and loved it. It would have been great to have been there during or after sunset.
