DanDan123 Posted August 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2023 Wife and I are due to fly on Sunday for a Virgin Cruise. We booked with an access key....Points Offer from earlier this year. We have both tested positive for Covid..... Does anyone know cancellation terms? Can we rebook cruise for next year?.....We have Amex Platinum Insurance but we have flights on rewards points so our loss is only £2.00. Thanks Dan
Lustate Posted August 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2023 From the booking terms.... Once you’re within 44 days of your voyage, all funds paid are final. But you do have the option to send someone else in your place up to 48 hours before your voyage if you really can't sail. Please note that taxes and fees will be refunded regardless of when the booking is canceled. I would assume you would lose the booking at such short notice and no refunds. Your insurance would be the way to reclaim the costs to explore.
Rare CineGraphic Posted August 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2023 Call Virgin, be nice and explain the situation....you never know what exceptions they may make.

Thanks Dan If you have a Travel agent, they should be able to get Virgin to give you Future Voyage Credit for another cruise without too much of a loss. Especially since you cannot go. If you booked directly, call VV yourself and explain the situation. They have been much more forgiving of changes than most of the other cruise lines, even very late. You should be able to move your booking to another sailing.
CanadianCruiser21 Posted August 9, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2023 https://www.virginvoyages.com/health-safety Before the voyage: If you test positive for COVID, or were exposed to COVID within 10 days of departure, Virgin Voyages will allow you to change your voyage date, or provide a full future voyage credit to use toward a booking at a later time. Taxes and fees and bookable amounts are refunded to the original form of payment.
DanDan123 Posted August 10, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted August 10, 2023 Thanks for replies.....We will call later today and when hopefully feeling better. Final question......Our cruise was booked using points (not cash)....Would this make any difference?

The only answer that matters is the one that comes from Virgin.
