Jerseygich Posted August 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2023 We booked a European cruise last year for this past June. We were unable to go so before final payment we changed the cruise to an Alaskan cruise for June 2024. We booked the original cruise with a non refundable deposit and paid the $100 change fee when booked the Alaskan cruise. We have yet to make any other payments. As of now it looks like 2 out of the 5 people who are going are unable to do the Alaskan cruise (2 in one room, 3 in another). At this point we decided instead of changing again, since do not know when we would be able cruise, we decided to just eat the loss of the deposits and book at another time. Our TA advised us there is a $75 cancellation charge. Is this true? Are final payment isn’t due til 02/24. I can’t believe they would charge us a fee in addition to our loss of deposit. Any info would help. Thanks

Ask for the policy in writing if you arent sure what this is for.
klfrodo Posted August 21, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2023 As Firefly stated, this could be a fee being charged by your TA, not the cruise line.
Ashland Posted August 21, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2023 $75.00 isn't a RCI fee...agree it's likely the TA you opted to use and a good reason to know policy when using one.
dunrobbin Posted August 21, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2023 TA's do a lot of work booking, and if you cancel, they get nothing from the cruise line. Maybe it is a TA fee?
Jerseygich Posted August 21, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted August 21, 2023 Thanks all. The TA charging the fee is what I was thinking.
