CruiserBruce Posted August 21, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2023 There is a board devoted to Panama here on Cruise Critic. Cruise lines pay MUCH larger fees, literally hundreds of thousands of dollars, than cargo ships in order to get specific date and time transits of the Canal. Your cruise will go.
BillB48 Posted August 21, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2023 And it has been moved to the Pan Canal board! Virtually all passenger ships that transit the Canal do so with reservations. These reservations provide them a transit on a given day within a certain time period. The reservations are made at at considerable expense above and beyond the tolls. Greg4502 Posted August 27, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2023 I did a B2B in April. West to East then back East to West. On the first leg, it was smooth sailing. On the return trip, we had traffic. We had to stop a couple of times and wait, two hours one time until we got underway again. The return trip also took a good 12 hours. Started the journey at sunup and were leaving the canal at sundown.
