Precruise Hotel Recommendation Brooklyn Cruise Terminal

Hi

We are going on a MSC cruise Dec 2nd.  We will be driving up from Massachusetts on Friday after work (around 6).  Need a recommendation for a 1 nights lodging close to the Brooklyn port (but not Brooklyn or Manhattan).  Hoping to be a 30 min drive to the terminal.  We are parking at the pier and just looking for a good hotel to sleep in the night before and then drive to the port Saturday morning.  Can anyone recommend a good area to stay in?  We were looking at Jersey City, Weekhawken, Secaucus or North Bergen.  Wish would be the best commute into the port?  Open for other suggestions.  Budget is below $300 a night.  We are traveling with another couple so are splitting the cost of parking.  In April we did a NCL cruise and used the Ferry from Weehawken and that was outstanding.  Highly recommend for those leaving from Manhattan Cruiseport.  Unfortunately, this is not an option for the Brooklyn terminal as the Ferry to Wall street does not run on weekends.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Coming down from Massachusetts, New Jersey would be out of your way. The most direct way to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal would be down through Connecticut, along the West Side Highway in Manhattan and then into the Battery Tunnel to Brooklyn.

If you don't want to stay in Manhattan or Brooklyn I would tell you to look at White Plains/Westchester/Tarrytown area. You literally have to drive through it anyway to get to the BCT. Going to New Jersey will be at least an hour+ out of your way.

Plenty of hotel options for all budgets and $300 is quite doable and the area is very nice for the most part. There is a hotel in Westchester called The Opus that used to be the Ritz-Carlton which sometimes is priced around $300 and is very nice. But you have a ton of options. The drive will be a little less than an hour to the BCT but its a nicer area than trying to get closer but not be in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

I agree with White Plains. When I put it into Google Maps it says take the FDR Drive to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.

It’s a crap ride because you have to go thru the Bronx and the part by the G Washington Bridge is tricky to get into Manhattan.

If you’re considering NJ don’t forget that Seacaucus is where the hotels are for Met Life Stadium and it will also be congested because of Christmas Shopping, plus the football game. There’s a bunch of stores over there.
