We just received an e-mail from Virgin Voyages that they have issued a refund for our cancelled sailing even though we submitted a request to rebook.  Did this happen to anyone else?

Happened to me, too. Received that Tuesday, replied immediatly but still waiting. I donˋt want a refund, i want to travel. Hopefully that works out again…

Virgin was able to straighten this out for us.  Our Travel Agent waited on hold for two hours to talk to someone.  They claimed that, on the form, we requested both a refund AND a rebooking.  On the form, it's a drop down where you can only pick one.  We finally got the rebooking confirmation yesterday.  We submitted the rebooking request on 9/7.  I would check the sailing you're wanting to switch to and make sure that there are available staterooms in your category.  If they're running out, I would put one on hold and contact Virgin (or your TA) to let them know you want to move the booking to the stateroom on hold.  I did this for an XL Sea Terrace.  VV originally put us in a regular Sea Terrace and they were able to transfer us to the XL.

Woo hoo!! Got my confirmation for my rebooking (one week to the day). Very happy with the extra $600 sailor loot and the new cruise itinerary (Barcelona to Rome, 11/3/24). I'll be able to take lots of shore excursions with that.

Thanks to everyone who has been on this thread for quite some time now. I would have really been in the dark without everyone sharing here. 😀

Monday is 7 days for our rebooking request .... will post when we hear anything.

We are on a casino rate and the new sailing is actually around $250 less with the reduction in port fees & taxes.  Will those be provided as a refund or more loot?  I am happy with more loot - just a mind game with the $ doesnt really make a difference but as its spent already it feels like extra "free" OBC LOL

I was successfully moved after 6 days.  A separate email states I have a $600 bar tab and $600 obc since I rebooked before 10/11/23. The app shows only $600 bar tab 🤷‍♀️

Same here. Call and get your folio emailed to you.

Just got rebooked to the BARCELONA TO CIVITAVECCHIA November 2024 cruise after a seven day wait. VV did say it would be a week when I submitted our form last Sunday. Good luck to everyone who is waiting!

We are rebooked!!!  French Daze & Ibiza nights in May!!!  So excited.  Not only were we able to move our casino booking to this sailing, we are getting back over $200 due to the changes in port fees/taxes AND I was able to scoop up a Splash of Romance, which was sold out on our original sailing.

I am so excited.  Its a longer wait but will be so worth it!!!!

It was 7 days from our submission last Monday as well.

I heard at the 7 day mark and did not get my desired itinerary. I’m very disappointed and discouraged to say the least. I’ll figure out a way to get what I want but really not pleased with the way this was handled. I was perfectly fine with my Brilliant Mermaiden being cancelled but to not get the cruise I wanted over a year in advance when it was not sold out when I requested it on Monday is very sad. I love VV - I’ve been on 4 cruises and one more booked in December. I know it’s a first world problem but my heart was set on it.

@librarylady19 we went to a third party website.  You. are   comped

They work with cruise lines to offer you deals based on your play in other casinos - land & ship based.

this will be our first Virgin Voyage!

Cool, thanks. I have been reading about how to get cruises through credit card/casino status but it seems like a lot of hoops to jump through especially of you don’t live near Vegas or AC!

I hope VV offers another Virgin points deal soon.

I'm still waiting to hear something on mine, may I ask what your desired itinerary was?

Spain to Greece 10/11/24. I put in the form early Monday morning when it was first released and there was plenty of availability but it was priced so low word got out and the itinerary sold out. So definitely not pleased because I would have bought a cabin on Monday if I thought there was any chance I wouldn’t get it. I’m just hoping some cancellations happen and I can still figure out a way.

That’s a bummer. It did sound like a good itinerary but I wanted to maximize my cancellation benefit and went w/ the 11 nt. Barcelona to Rome as that was a more appealing route to me and much pricier. No chance of that selling out at 5k for xl sea terrace 🙂

I had picked the itinerary before I even saw the price! I thought it was going to be way more expensive than it was. Kicking myself for not buying it outright on Monday and using the credit for something else.
