I think it depends on where your cruise itinerary start port is.

Others on here will correct me if I am wrong but I think that Barbados and Jamaica are bonded luggage. We are currently on Explorer 2 and on previous trips from Dubrovnik port the luggage was bonded but this trip we had to collect our suitcases from the carousel at Dubrovnik airport and take them to a van parked near to the transfer coaches which then took them to the ship.

Which cruise/itinerary?

 

Med cruises,America cruises you have to collect luggage at carousel and take them to transfer coaches.I have read previously the likes of Jamaica luggage is bonded

 

Personally never been on a Marella cruise where I have not had to collect my luggage at arrival airport

Just arrived home from Dubrovnik.

for the return journey we put our luggage outside our room late yesterday evening (Wednesday) and we picked it up at the baggage carousel at Birmingham airport.

so bonded one way is how they are going this year.

Don't forget to sit on the left side of the coach from the airport and obviously the reverse on the way back. Great views 😀
