Has anyone been there as an excursion from NCL's Escape?

Hello @Grams604 and welcome back to the message boards! I see it has been a while since you have posted.

Thank you for your new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising. Your inquiry concerns a specific Port of Call and is off topic there.

To help you out I have moved your new thread to the Ports of Call - Caribbean - St. Thomas/St. John forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have been there frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you.

Hope this will be helpful and glad to have you back aboard Cruise Critic!

Happy sails,

Host Kat

We have been to Coral World three times over the years, though not with NCL.  I imagine that the arrangements are similar on all the cruiselines.

We find it a pleasant way to spend a few hours.  Mostly outdoor pools and exhibits.  A structure that allows you to walk down to seabed level and observe the sea life through windows. Another building with a continuous tank, with fish swimming.

There are other options there, such as an underwater tank walk ($).

There is a food stand, restrooms, and gift shop.

There should be a website with further info, if you need it.

Grams604, I just noticed that there is another post here about Coral World.  It has some info that might be of use to you.

When we've gone there, it was as a package of transportation plus entrance fee.  I believe the entrance fee for non-residents is high enough that doing a package is good value.  Also, the driver that we had stayed there, and when we all thought about going back earlier than our scheduled time, he was fine with that.

Yes, the ship tours include transportation and because transportation is included, the ship tour may be a better deal than going on your own. BUT,

The ship tour may not give you beach time at Coki, the beach next door. If you have your own snorkel gear Coral World and Coki are a fun way to spend the day.
