What is concierge class like on Equinox?

Curious as to how much better if anything concierge class is to just booking a stateroom with balcony? It was on offer when we booked and I see a few things listed on celebrities website.  Is it worth it, or any tips you have picked up on which we shouldn’t miss out on or not expect?

We have sailed in Concierge cabins several times.  In my opinion, there is no difference.  We decline the afternoon canapes because they often sit around all afternoon while we are doing something in port or around the ship.  The price is rarely worth the one bottle of sparkling wine that you now have to ask for if you'd like it.  We have never used the binoculars or umbrella, the pillow selection, or the key holder.

That being said, if you are close to the next Captain's Club level, it might be worth getting the 2 extra points each day.

We’re booked on Equinox Concierge class in January and the only reason why we have concierge is we wanted on the 11th deck and there was no other choice

So if we end up getting some perks for it, all the better.  I didn’t realize we could get 2 points per day.  Great !!

We have done concierge’s class on Celebrity three times. Once on Equinox, once on Summit and once on Reflection.  It does cost a little more, However we do like the extra perks and extra captains club points as well.  Have been invited to the helipad for sail always from ports in Europe and the Caribbean, special concierge class events, embarkation day lunch, prime cabin locations,  tasty canapes and using the concierge host for various reasons,  It elevates the experience a bit.  It also helped us get to Elite CC in only 4 cruises( combined with all the CC power up points).  Some don’t find value in it, but we do.

The cabin are the same size. IMO, the perks are not worth the additional cost. If you need extra perks go for it. Blu a least has a dedicated restaurant.

I meant to say Aqua Class. Blu is the AC restaurant.

We have sailed concierge class on several ships, the last time in February on Equinox just for the extra CC points to get us to Elite. On S class (Equinox) the cabins are the same size as regular veranda cabins. I think on Equinox the decor has been slightly updated (soft furnishings) and I don't believe that happened to the regular cabins. Bathrooms are identical. On M class, the concierge cabins are slightly larger.

The canapes were truly awful on that cruise. I don't know how many times we got watermelon and feta salad and dried out chocolate cake pieces. I don't have a high standard for snacks, but they were terrible.

The embarkation lunch is a nice way to start your cruise. Menu is very limited but it's a quick meal. It can be crowded depending on where they have it.

Sometimes you get a couple of extra perks - helipad sail away, extra CC event. The service from the room attendent is no different (our attendens have generally been fantastic). The concierge may leave you annoying reminders about events on your phone. You have to request the bottle of sparkling wine now, it used to be in the room waiting.

I will say that we have experienced getting priority seating in the dining rooms because of concierge status, although other people on this board will tell you that's not true. I think it's hit or miss for that and it's not published anywhere.

Now that we made elite (and will never get any higher) we won't spend the money on upgrading from a regular veranda cabin.

We have booked it a number of times when the price difference was negligible. In addition to the extra points. the embarkation lunch and other little things you get priority on tenders. This is nice when you have a non-Celebrity excursion booked allowing you to get off when you want.

On Equinox in August our steward had the bubbly chilling in the fridge when we arrived and the canapés were better than usual (or we are becoming less discriminating).

The extra points are nice, but I book it for cabin location. On our Hawaiian cruise in May 2022 on the Eclipse, we had a cabin on deck 12 so we could walk out and be at the pool. The buffet was one deck up. Everything was right there.

After reaching Elite, still won't be there after the Panama Canal cruise in March sadly, it'll depend on the cost, but likely if it's not that much more, I'd still book CC for the location. The embarkation lunch is nice, too.

We do not book concierge for the advertised perks.  We do book it based on room location if the price is comparable to booking just a veranda.  We do like several of the perks though.  We really enjoyed the lunch at the MDR on boarding day.  It's a great way to start a cruise without having to go to the OVC with everyone else.  It's quiet, relaxing and outstanding bar service.

While on the M-Class ships the rooms are a little bigger; this is not the case on the S-Class.

Do Concierge Class get priority on tenders, as other posts suggest not? If so, how does it work?

They usually have a person set up just inside the entrance to the restaurant (if I am recalling correctly) and when you show up they escort you (or call someone to escort you) down to the exit.  There is no priority for getting a tender back to the ship.
