Blue Chip “Free” Cruise Offer

My wife and I sailed on Summit for 12 nights in August. We gambled 4 or so times for 2-3 hours at a time and went through $1,000 or so.  Yesterday we received an email offer from the Blue Chip Club offering complimentary inside cabin for several different ship options - all in Jan. - Feb. time frame and ranging from 3 to 9 nights.

Is this type offer made to anyone who drops a few dollars in a machine or are we somehow “special?” Lol.

Yeah we had the same thing. We cruised in Feb of this year and spent a bit in the casino (we didnt loose all that much, but overall money wagered was a bit). We have started getting the offers too. We are actually taking one in March of next year. We will see how it goes. 🙂

Aboard Silhouette last year, my loves-to-gamble bride finally induced me to plant my fanny at a slot machine in the casino and push a few buttons. Vowing to lose no more than $100 – and forced to insert my last $20 into the machine after the "wheels" kept turning against me – I eventually walked away with a net of 58+ bucks. I took the photo here to commemorate this rare event 😆

On our cruise this spring, I noticed a "Blue Chip/Pearl" designation on my SeaPass card and had to ask a crew member what it meant. Inspired, I plunked a few more bucks into the machines and, again, walked away with a modest net profit.

Unfortunately, I've received no special offers from Celebrity as you have, @Spurs Fans. Maybe my ~$90 winnings are to blame and they're afraid I'll end up owning the ship; maybe they just recognize I'm a tight-a** who's never going to risk more than a Benjamin...

Bottom line, I hope you win big next time!

You are special, not just because you got a free cruise.  Lol

As an FYI, it takes more than spending $50-$100 to get offers from any of the cruiseline casino programs. That's about how much I spend at the casino in a cruise, and I never get offers even for discounted rooms (that's not entirely true, I did get 1 offer from BCC for their Solstice ship's Mexican Riviera sailings which were severely unsold. That is the one and only time I've received an offer) despite sailing almost exclusively on comped cruises continuously for the past 10 years. My husband is the gambler in the family so he's the one getting the, complementary cruise offers.

Just came off a 14 day cruise where we gambled almost daily (I'm not sure what we risked overall but we left a slight winner) and I have seen two Blue Chip offers for the same thing.

It's curious and interesting. I was on the Edge for a one week cruise in the Med in August, got up to over 25,000 points, and have received no offers whatsoever (playing table games and slots). It seems to be very inconsistent.

If you are not receiving offers you may want to contact BCC and ask if you are on their mailing list.  I get both email and snail mail offers all the time.

Thanks for the tip, I have connected with them.

Yes the room can sometimes be upgraded. It depends on casino rate availability. It also depends on how popular the cruise is. Sometimes you can upgrade to a balcony for about $100 - other times it will be $1000. Call the blue chip phone number. It never hurts to ask.

I received one, gambled maybe $300 at blackjack over a 7 day cruise.  Can these be upgraded or try a move up? Thanks.

The gambling gods (BCC) shine on you. 🙂  They SH&t on me ... I have some hands where I have that much or more in a single deal - and I got the same offer (well, it sounds like the same offer)!

Apparently my being friendly and tipping well builds no karma points either. 😞

You are special!!! However This isn’t a special offer from Blue Chip. They have a point system. If you gamble to a certain level, you get an offer that is sent to all at that level. My husband gets the same offer as you do. I gamble more and usually am offered a veranda. My sister in law gambles a couple of hundred per cruise and sometimes just gets a small discount

You need to call them, and also go:

bluechipoffers.com and go to the menu at the top left hand corner. There is an option to fill out a form if you aren’t receiving your offers. Be prepared to make multiple calls and wait for it to be corrected. I’ve been struggling with this issue for months and it still hasn’t been fixed

Just received a similar offer in the mail.    Is there a catch or is this really a free cruise....?     Thanks

No catch, other than when I go on a comped cruise I feel I have to gamble more in order to keep getting offers. They know what they are doing lol

Mostly. You will have to pay port fees and taxes up front (no payment plan), and will pay the daily gratuity like any other cabin. It also will not include a drink package or wifi. But no "administrative fee," no minimum spend in the casino, no hidden cost.

Worth remembering that what they do charge is per person. So if you're travelling solo, it's basically half the cost as going as a couple instead of the usual paying double for a solo supplement.

Also, if you do have to cancel your cruise, port fees and taxes are always refundable, meaning you will get 100% of your money back.

i was on the summit in aug 2023 to iceland.

yes, it's typical now of blue chip.

it used to be comp casino cruises were only balcony and above so you had to play enough to earn that cabin level.

Now they have lowered it to Insides and a lot less play is needed to get a free cruise.

That's great for me. I no longer feel the weight of needing around $20k coin-in each cruise, especially on M-class ships with older slots that i don't like playing.

i'm ok with an Inside. I use the room for 3 things: sleep and shower
