  1. Unless something has changed, the Retreat Sundeck checked our drink package via our cards in order to identify/learn our drink package. That was on a two-week cruise and, after several days of frequenting this awesome space, the staff stopped asking us 👼 You will need a drink package. cjr
  2. If your Move Up bid succeeds, you will not receive an upgrade on your WiFi or drink package to whatever would come "standard" with your suite if you had just purchased the suite originally. We took advantage of a Celebrity Move Up offer to a suite a few years ago and didn't realize this until we were onboard. Not a big deal but good to know. Hope this helps, cjr
  3. Agree. Monitoring this thread is probably the most reliable way to discover/take advantage of the CC PUP offers. cjr
  4. Yes, after scouring my Celebrity account settings, hoping to disable that behavior, I ended up disabling it on my Apple stuff, as well. I thought I would feel annoyed that I had to selectively click "load remote content" for each email if I wished, but it really hasn't been a problem. Moreover, the Celebrity emails no longer grate on my nerves! 🥳 cjr
  5. I can tell you that I signed up again for the CC emails and am receiving the usual number of near-daily promos in my inbox. No CC "offer" yet, nor any notation of my/our CC status on anything I've received. The other "mystery" I'd like to solve is how to eliminate the epilepsy-inducing emails Celebrity is sending recently, as well as the music accompanying it. The constant photo-changes are distracting, and the music is just too much... 😄 cjr
  6. I've no idea about the Premium Access pass and how it works, but I recommend asking somebody when you approach the boarding area. My wife and I are fortunate to cruise at the Retreat level and there is usually a separate boarding spot for that -- though the signage is not always easy to spot, so we've asked a staff member in the past. Hope this helps. cjr
  7. Noticed today that my 3 CC points were awarded as some point after April 14 p.m., when I last checked. Still trying to work out why I dropped off the CC email list recently... I only found out about this last CC-point opportunity via this thread. 🤔 cjr
  8. I signed in with no problem just now... sorry! cjr
  9. Yes. And if you don't find them in your closet, just ask your room attendant for some. We actually found 3 pair in our suite last time, but no binoculars. The latter were quickly replaced when we mentioned it. cjr
  10. This morning, it hit me that I haven't been receiving ANY Celebrity emails lately. I came here just to see if anyone else had encountered this, and it appears I'm not the only one. I have no clue why the usual 1-2 per day stopped, but I'd guess it's been at least a week. Definitely didn't receive the latest 3 CC-point video offer, so I appreciate finding a link here. I'll look at my Celebrity communication settings (which I haven't touched!) to see if that's it. Otherwise, I guess I'll signup for the CC emails again. Very odd 🤔 cjr
  11. Sorry for the tardy reply, @drakes2! Yes, just samples (see photo) for the various wines involved. But that's not a criticism; it only takes a bit of an olive, or chocolate, or cheese to totally change the way you perceive the taste of a particular style of wine. I found it very interesting how a morsel of something could transform a wine style I didn't care for into "Yes, please!" 😄 The entire event was led by a professional who guided each sip/taste. I took many notes and recommend this experience. cjr
  12. My wife loves wine so we experienced this in autumn 2022 aboard the Silhouette. There's no reason to expect high-end wines here; just representative types. But if you've never paired different types of wine with different types of food, I highly recommend this. Incredible how a bit of "something" can transform the taste of a wine you just sampled and didn't like into a totally different encounter -- and vice versa. Very enjoyable! cjr
  13. My wife and I would like to know this, too. cjr
  14. My wife received an email from Celebrity that offered her (as the primary contact for our cruise) the upgrade option on our cruise a few years ago. After discussing it, she placed a bid and we won 🥳 I do not recall exactly how early that email arrived vs. our departure, but I doubt it was more than 45 days beforehand. As @jelayne notes, the timing varies and probably depends on the need to sell those cabins as departure approaches. If you do receive the move-up "invitation," you should be able to then discern a min-max range for you to offer as a bid. We bid high, which is the general advice, but it all depends on how much Celebrity suggests, how much you want the upgraded cabin, etc. Hope this helps! cjr
  15. Your SeaPass is a smart card that doesn't rely on WiFi at all. (I think it's an NFC card.) It will open your cabin door, authorize you to leave/board the ship, authorize drink and food purchases, etc. Celebrity's app connects for free to the ship's WiFi and will function for those without a WiFi plan per Celebrity -- but the app itself only offers info about your cruise, such as ship maps, restaurant and bar hours, onboard event times/locations, etc. Yes, you can make reservations via the app, but you can also do that in several other ways since you're onboard. And yes, you can "message" someone you're traveling with, but trust me, it's functionality is disappointing and not what mobile-phone users expect. I only offer this because you're wondering above exactly what we did when we first cruised a few years ago on Celebrity. I hope this helps and hope you have a wonderful time! cjr
  16. We get excited as soon as we book and just find the passing days/weeks adds to the anticipation. We're looking at an Alaska cruise later this year right now. Hope you have a blast on yours! cjr
  17. Hoping this image captures the spirit of my wife and me on our next cruise as I shout "Fancy Pants Night!" from the bow 🤣 cjr
  18. Your thread title made me laugh out loud. I will now always refer to Chic Night as Fancy Pants Night 🤣 Thanks! cjr
  19. One of the things that took getting used to on our first cruise was ordering a glass of wine or beer somewhere and just carrying it around the ship or back to our room. Same is true of adding something to a plate in the main dining room, such as cookies or cheese, and carrying it back to our room. So, yes, you can and should do this. Similarly, depending on your beverage package, you should be able to bring water or soda back to your room that you acquire from a bar or restaurant. As mentioned, however, you should take advantage of bringing aboard as many bottles of wine, or bottles of water or soda, as you can when you arrive. Finally, on our cruises, we've purchased full-blown bottles of booze on excursions and/or in port, passed them through the scanner (within backpacks), and have not had them confiscated until the end of the cruise, i.e., we carried them back to our stateroom. Perhaps we were just lucky (we didn't drink them anyway), but I don't think Celebrity would worry about any soda you bring back from a port. Hope this helps and that you enjoy your cruise! cjr
  20. We received ours a day or two after the January 14 "expected" deadline. No complaints. cjr
  21. We love Celebrity but its failure to show us -- plain and simple -- everything included in our current booking irritates me to no end. Whether logged into my online account, via the app, or any of the "paperwork" we receive, it's tiresome to need to discover some magic "online navigation sequence" to find this info and, even then, it doesn't seem comprehensive. Similarly, the obscure TA gobbledygook coding on our booking confirmations is useless and only triggers thoughts about choosing a more-transparent cruise line next time. If you want people to book online, Celebrity, then make it easy and don't punish them for doing so. Currently, logged into my account, I see endless offers to upgrade my WiFi, my booze package, etc., even though we have premium packages booked. It took me forever to find a single place confirming that gratuities were also part of our upcoming reservation. Last month, I also selected a bunch of specific options to personalize our Retreat-level suite when we board, courtesy of a Celebrity email, but there's no acknowledgement of my selections, and I know better than to seek that info in my account. Guess we'll find out when we board... If I'm missing something here, please enlighten me. Thanks, cjr
  22. Did you book this excursion through Celebrity or independently? And when you say you won't arrive until 10 a.m., does that mean when the ship docks? I ask because if you book an excursion through Celebrity, then those things are typically coordinated, i.e., Celebrity shouldn't offer an excursion booking time before the ship even docks. I'm not saying it's impossible (stuff happens!) but that's been our experience booking excursions through the cruise line. That said, even if your ship arrived at 10:00 a.m., you likely won't disembark quickly enough for a 10:15 excursion. In addition, I would not assume your excursion will automatically be adjusted. Instead, I would check with your excursion provider to clarify your arrival time vs. its departure time and, if necessary, rebook or cancel for a refund. Hope this helps and that you have a fabulous cruise! cjr
