Not having done any back to back cruises I have a couple of questions. I am considering doing a back to back from BICT on the Carnival Luminosa the first cruise is just a three day at sea and the next is 7 days north cruise. The 7 day cruise is already booked  and I found the cabin my daughter is booked into is available for the three day cruise. Our cabin is not available for the three days but the one next to it is. I did read my daughter can leave her luggage in the same cabin but obviously ours will need to be moved next door. Will we still have to go through the disembarkation & embarkation process after the three days ? Will my daughter keep her sail card or have to change that ? I suppose I am asking is it a hassle even though you are staying on the same ship. I have not booked the three day cruise as yet but thought the three sea days would be relaxing.

Hi I did the same last Xmas 7 Day South Pacific and NYE 3 days to nowhere and was lucky enough to secure the same cabin. It’s crazy that you have to disembark and Re board but you will be given priority boarding and a new key/card. We left most of our stuff in the cabin walked off with hand luggage. Maybe things have changed with no Covid testing etc. I loved the Luminosa, enjoy 🛳

OK, They will take your luggage to your new room, I have always with Carnival had a different room on a different deck, so I have tipped them $20.

For each cruise you will have a different Sail & Sign card.

Normally they ask if you want to get off & go do something & come back at boarding time & re-board as per usually.. Or they get you together at Attrium & have a few little snacks & drinks take a photo of B2B passengers; & then escort you off & reboard first back on..

Whether you need to disembark as a transit passenger or can stay aboard depends on the itinerary. If you are doing an international cruise and the next cruise is domestic, everyone has to "arrive" through customs as the following domestic cruise will not have an active customs process. If you are arriving into Australia from a cruise starting overseas, you also need to take your luggage off the ship for customs, then take it to the baggage drop.

 

If you are doing domestic followed by international, you aren't departing Australia on the 1st cruise. You need to cycle back through customs so that you can have your passport scanned to depart Australia for the 2nd cruise. Luggage can stay aboard.

 

If you are doing B2B domestic, you can stay aboard. If you are doing B2B Aussie based internationals, you can usually stay aboard.

 

As I read it John, you should be able to stay aboard and have stuff shifted next door with assistance from your steward, who is likely to be the same for your next cruise as well. Accounts are finalised after each cruise, and new sail passes issued for the next. If you are required to disembark with transit cards, you are front of queue to reboard.

What would you do for the limited time and the nightmare taxi line-up at BICT ? There is not even anywhere to walk to unlike Syd or Mel . Think straight back on board.

On our last couple of times going into the BICT there was a line-up of taxis. A couple of weeks ago there would have been 30 or more taxis waiting.

As we live only an hour away from the BICT we would go straight back on board. Have been told that we would be one of the first in line to check back in so it should be nice and quiet on board.😊

We are cruising Auckland/Sydney onboard Coral, then doing round Australia  in the same stateroom. From Arxcards comment it seems we have to get off with our luggage and reboard? Don't fancy having to repack and then unpack again😱

There were several hundred passengers that had the same sentiments when Majestic Princess arrived last season. As far as I can tell, both of your cruises will be international, as the around Australia cruises visit a foreign port. Also, I am not sure how it goes with NZ, as we share quite a few relaxed border arrangements.

 

Majestic Princess returns on 4th November after a trans-pacific crossing, to be followed by a 3-night domestic cruise. I expect those staying aboard for a B2B might be unpleasantly surprised.

Most likely will be the case, at the very least you will need to clear immigration.
