Hi I was wondering if anyone has booked the La Soufriere Volcano excursion through NCL? How was your experience? If there's a comparable one that's through a third party that's recommended I'm open to that as well. TIA

Do you not want to get in the mud baths or maybe a nearby mineral bath?

Maranatha Gardens are lovely, but small - and lots and lots of stairs and up and down - be prepared. If there's anyone with mobility challenges, they won't be able to see much, if any of the gardens . (And, depending 9nnyoir religious views, you may or may not find all the Bible versus everywhere intrusive or offensive or uplifting - it's called Maranatha Gardens for a reason).

You can do a similar tour with Serenity Vacations, Explore St Lucia, Marius Taxi, Island Man Taxi and Tours, Real St Lucia Experience, and so forth.  Most would arrange the actual lunch at Beacon, which is wonderful, if you preferred - well worth it.

Cosol Tours offers a slightly longer day trip that includes a few more stops, plus food and drinks.

If you're just wanting to see the volcano and some gardens, I'd suggest Diamond Botanical Gardens and Falls instead - gorgeous former plantation, well maintained diverse gardens, some History and architecture, plus Diamond Falls, which is beautiful..

Any of the above companies can arrange that garden instead.

Enjoy.

No, we're not that keen to get into the mud baths itself. We're mostly interested in an excursion that goes into the volcano. Fortunately we're both in good shape so a little hiking/climbing won't be too much of a problem for us. Are the tours you suggested long? Our port time is from 8 AM - 5 PM.

If it's just the volcano and gardens, all will be about the same length - a little longer (half hour or so longer) if you do the Diamond Botanical Gardens instead of Maranatha Gardens..

Soufriere is a solid 60 minutes drive from port. Be prepared for a winding narrow mountainous road..

We booked a tour at the dock with a local company.  Took us to the volcano and a botanical garden.  You can get really good pictures of the valley where the town of Soufriere is, the Pitons and some of the most rugged hillside jungles that you can find anywhere.  The volcano isn't much but it is still well worth the trip.
