Arashlzy Posted October 29, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2023 Hi guys We are traveling on the Europa in mid November out of Barcelona , we are a family of 10. Our in bound flight had been delayed and we will probably get to the port at 1630-1700 for a 1800 departure time . My question is how strict are they with the “must board 2 hrs prior “ rule ? Also any help on how to get to marseille if we absolutely miss it ?
Rare Essiesmom Posted October 29, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2023 Make the airline put you on an earlier flight, or fly in the day before (highly, highly recommended). Do not plan on them allowing you to board less than two hours prior to departure. EM
Tierun Posted October 30, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2023 We're also going to be on WE out ofBarcelona. Taking a red-eye Wednesday night to arrive Thursday morning in Barcelona and staying overnight for the cruise departing Friday. Never fly out the day of the cruise. xcell Posted October 30, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2023 Since Med cruises they pick up new passengers at most of the stops, so long as the ship does not depart, you should be able to check in but they won't wait for you. Change your flight, would be the safest choice.. Here's my story for last Xmas. Took the last flight of the day (never going to do that again), plane came 1.5 hour lates, we all boarded and the plane was on the runway, when then it turned back and asked everyone to get off and we were rebooked for the following day (cruise day). Our flight the next morning was 9am, delayed until 10am, as we were arriving in Orlando, the weather delayed our landing by another hour. So instead of arriving at Noon, then 1pm, we didn't get off the flight until 2, then had to get our bags and uber 1 hour to Port Canaveral -- I think we made it around 4-4:30 for the 6pm departure. They were packing up as we were arriving...VERY stressful.

If the airline changed the schedule, hopefully they will permit you a change as it no longer suits your plans?
