Now that Chris was promoted does anybody know who will be taking over as CD?

Promoted... to what/where?

I guess he's the current CD (I was just onboard a couple of weeks ago).. shows you how much I pay attention to announcements!  😉

He is now a Fleet Cruise Director. Released a video with the news yesterday.

Sweet!  We get him on SUNDAY!  WooHoo

According to his YouTube video, effective immediately he won't be doing cruises anymore on a regular basis after accepting his new position. So it sounds to me like you will not be having him. He even made a comment "as of 2 weeks ago I am no longer a Cruise Director...".

Thats the way I heard it from his video.

  • 2 weeks later...

Louis Clare is great! Sailed with him on the Miracle for the 14 day Alaska in September and a Mexico cruise a couple of weeks ago. #1 he is not annoying, no tag lines or other nonsense or incessant announcements. He is gracious, out and about, accessible and has gravitas and charisma. He deserves the promotion, congrats Louis!

I had him on the Miracle also Nov 2nd and he was a good guy. Normally I don't even really care one way or another but you are right. He is down to earth and doesn't do silly things with his announcements. I asked him if he would be there for my January Miracle trip to Hawaii but he said he was moving to the Celebration.

I was on the November 2nd cruise also, how about that sunset in Cabo? Like you I am not that into the cruise director but Louis really impressed me, same with Marty who used to be on the Panorama. Now they have someone promoted directly from the fun squad on Panorama, to say he is not ready for prime time is being kind. Chao for now, 100 times a day, worst catch phrase ever!

Were you my neighbor? I took almost the same shot from room 6234 at 5:49 pm! I actually asked him if he was on the Panorama last Nov and he told me it was Marty who was from his hometown also and sounded similar!

Wow, your pic is even better but still does not do justice to experiencing it, probably the most spectacular sunset I have ever seen. We were in 4228, a Vista suite on the aft corner. One of the best cabins Carnival has to offer, glad we got to experience it one more time.

Back in the day... the Milestones program awarded a Cat 11 cabin for up to an 8-day cruise in celebration of 100 sailings with the company. Those Spirit class aft corners used to be categorized as Cat 11's. That's no longer the case, and the "free" cruise is only up to an OS cabin now as I recall.

I wonder if they'd grandfather us in, when the time comes !!  🙂

We've enjoyed those aft corners a few times. It's rather funny, but the first time we were in 4228, we were such newbies that I didn't even know it was a suite until months (or more) after we cruised.. lol

Yes, they are definitely the best we’ve been in. Our first was on the Legend out of Tampa for my 50th in 2007. The ultimate was the Spirit to Alaska in 2008, we were on the 7th deck and our BFFs were in the other Vista Suite on 7. We’d run back and forth between the cabins to see the wildlife sightings. This was back when they did the one way to Whittier so lots of cruising the inside passage, words cannot describe how wonderful it was. So good we dropped the mike and didn’t cruise again until 2022, lol! We did the 14 day to Alaska in September on the Miracle but the Vista suite was 10K, definitely out of our price range.

This last cruise was a free suite offer from the casino and we paid the $200 upgrade for the Vista Suite. It was a very limited offer and I only got it for one cycle but so happy we got to do it again. The weather was perfect! I do have an Excel Aft Suite 15th deck on the Celebration coming up in May. I was able to use an offer that brought it into our price range, looking forward to that one! I should hit my 25th in 2025, looking forward to that too!
