Amazing pictures scuba cruiser! Thanks so much for posting your tour and for Veteran’s Day.

We have an opportunity to go to Volunteer Point in 2025 and your report cements it…but…forgive an old-folks question, on your trip were restrooms available during the hours-long drive and at the parking spot? Thank you again,

Chris and Shawn

There were these at the farm . And we're also older . So we just sipped until we got back to the city .

As you can see , the road  was a bit bumpy .

Thank you for writting in and I'm gonna do a wrap up now before we move on to Antarctica

We had retreated for the car and W.C. to get out of the wind  ( we had left our jackets in the car ) . There we had a box lunch and paid in cash using British Pounds Sterling . Our guide asked if wanted to go the same way or different to return and we choose different . Dessert from lunch .

The way back was way nicer .

image.png.ff42a8f9c18eaa683f30f7e1bc3acbb7.png

It's a good thing as some visitors had rented a car to do it themselves and were stuck .

image.png.76d07ff23276534a4e235acc803a6328.png

Even worse , a local had tried to pull them out and he was stuck also

image.png.61921617b25a29476774e5d6aa02d49d.png

Our driver hooked up to the blue truck and pulled them both out

We were sure glad that we traveled with the other truck like ours

We were soon back on the rocky and then the gravel road

We did make a comfort stop at the Supermarket and for some headache medicine . Even in this remote location it was cheaper than on the ship .

Our driver told us on the way back how as a child in school they were kidnapped and held hostage during the Falkland War with Argentina . If you want to anger an Argentine call it the Falkland Islands . They believe that it belongs to them and call it Isla Malvinas . We stopped at this spot in the city for a photo op . It says this gun has killed 20,000 Whales and has a skeleton .

We really wanted some fish and chips and a pint here but were concerned with the time

So we went shopping instead to spend our British Pounds . Warning : The change is in Falkland Island Pounds which England will not accept .

At the price we paid for a Neptune Suite , we could have afforded the Seaborne Quest . But we don't need to walk in the penguin poop to smell it and just to say we set foot on the continent . We enjoyed the view with warm food and a bath room just feet from our balcony and the view .

Wow, that is terrible. I drank fresh mountain water from a stream in Iceland but didn't  suffer those consequences.

I was told as a youngster to avoid yellow smow as well.

We didn't get sick from water in Iceland or on the glacier in Alaska but maybe in Yosimite . Or maybe it was the rainbow colored shave ice in Kauai . I think it had some yellow . 😉

Loved the doors off helicopter flight in Kauai

In to Antarctica .

As we rounded Cape Horn we had a strong wind and the Captain made an announcement  . We would not be rounding the Horn but making a run for it .

It was a bit bumpy that night but we have seen worse . A map chart was posted for all to see of our target area .

We had made it ! Land Ho

The sky was beginning to clear so we ordered room service to keep shooting photos .
