Rare cruiseypop Posted November 18, 2023 Author #102 Share Posted November 18, 2023 They upgraded the medallion door screen this morning. New fresh look and they no longer display last name, just initial. I previously saw a lot of complaints on this privacy issue, so Princess listens!!

treesah Posted November 18, 2023 #104 Share Posted November 18, 2023 Cruisey, thank you for a refreshing journal of your Discovery adventure. We were on her the previous week so a bit of vicarious living was in order. It's a lovely ship and the crew is outstanding.

The galley tour is at the end, you follow the leader. The galley tour happens fast at the end, be ready. The presenter will tell you who to follow. they usually are at the back of the lower level if the theater.

That is the only menu I am missing for the 7 days Mexican Riviera. TIA. We will board Discovery in February for b2b2b for a total of 21 days. The first two cruises of the b2b2b will be two exactly the same itineraries for 7 day Mexican Riviera, and the last 7 day cruise will the Pacific Coastal. Just didn't want to only do 14 days, do decided to do 21 days with one cruise repeat. 😄

Rare bethfelk Posted November 18, 2023 #120 Share Posted November 18, 2023 Just seeing this but great report, thanks! I do have a question if you don't mind answering this, is ~$100/day enough play that you get casino comp offers? I get carnival offers but have yet to get a princess offer so I am not sure if they have a higher threshold or what. I am planning to budget $100/day as well for my upcoming princess cruise tho so I am curious if that's likely to get me anything

I am planning to budget $100/day as well for my upcoming princess cruise tho so I am curious if that's likely to get me anything Well, realistically probably not enough. Its based on points earned. That will make sense when you are playing and will see your points in the screen. I earned a little over 3000 points for the entire week and I got an offer for a free interior with $250 free play at the end for nex time. You earn 1 point for ever $1 played. So in my case I was extremely lucky this cruise and I won alot so I was able to also play all my winning too. Another way to look at it if you were to play and you lost every time with no wins you would have to play about $428 per day to get the free offer. I think the general logic is that you will "pay" for the cruise one way or the other either in cash to them as usual or through the casino. They aint giving away "free" cruises for thebfun of it. So in my case this time it was good deal for me, but i am not always so lucky. You should budget and play what you can afford and MAYBE in the end you might get an offer. Dont go into with a plan to gamble to get a free cruise. In the long run you wont make out better. I enjoy gambling as entertainment, so for me its a win win. 2

Thanks for the reply! 100% agree with you that I just play as something fun to do (usually tables for me because I find it more fun and like talking to the other people) and not trying/expecting for anything more, I was mostly just curious. And congrats on your jackpots
Select97 Posted November 18, 2023 #123 Share Posted November 18, 2023 I can’t remember my points or how much I won and lost on the Alaskan cruise last year, but it was enough to get a thank you card from the casino manager while on board and lots of emails after the voyage with “casino member only cruise” offers as well as the casino tournament trips. I’m sure the more you play the more and better offers you will receive just like the Nevada and Indian casinos do. The discovery 4 day sampler November 25th -29th I booked was on a casino offer, interior cabin for $79+161 port fees. I bet they’ll get more $$ out of me and into those slot machines! 🤞 I find some loose machines on my trip so I can go home with more money that I came on board with! Thank you so much for this live posting and all the details. I think you get 1 point per $2.50 in coin in for slots. I don’t gamble a lot but did 500 points earlier this year on Discovery. I get nice offers from time to time especially on less desirable cruises and staterooms but no total comps. I booked this itinerary on Discovery a couple weeks ago on a casino special for $249-259 per person plus port taxes with a $100 OBC per person for an aft or forward balcony. They mostly seem to come 1-3 months before sailing.
