Mattress toppers on X

My wife uses a tempurpedic mattress topper that we bring with us on all of our cruises ?
Needless to say , even rolled up and packed it is quite a large duffel type bag we use to bring it.

Has anyone had any success with a mattress topper provided by the cruise line ?

Yes. On the Beyond in September 2022 I asked for a mattress topper and our cabin steward added it the same day. Difference was night & day.

We have our cabin steward put one on every cruise.  I believe it is an egg crate (not a really nice Tempupedic) but it really does make a difference.

We asked for one on the Beyond but were told none was available.  We had even made the request months before the cruise.  Even called the desk and they said they had none.

We are currently on a B2B on the Constellation and for both cruises we requested and were provided with a mattress topper.

I got wind of this thread earlier today and called in to make sure that one would be provided to me on my up and coming cruise on the 17th Nov.

If you need a topper for a medical condition (arthritis etc) rather than just for a bit of extra comfort I suggest you contact additional needs then hopefully your request will be prioritised.

We have just returned from 15 nights on Solstice.

Stateroom 8066

The bed had a mattress topper on it when we arrived.

It was super comfortable and we both slept incredibly well!

We have always requested and received either a memory foam or egg crate mattress topper.  A few months ago we had an amazing memory foam topper on Edge and slept fantastic!  I requested a mattress topper with special needs pre cruise for our upcoming Constellation sailing.  The response I just received said (I added the bold for ease of reading):

 

We would like to inform you that we will be providing a complimentary mattress topper for your upcoming voyage. To enhance your sleeping experience, our staterooms will be equipped with a padded mattress topper. Please note that this topper is not made of memory foam or egg crate foam material. We understand the importance of providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience, and we hope that these amenities will contribute to that.

 

I’m not certain how to interpret this.  Are they calling the thin quilted mattress cover a topper?  
 

Can anyone who has sailed on Constellation recently comment on your experience if you requested a mattress topper?

Celebrity is referring to one of those 5-sided stretch mattress pads, which they are misusing the term topper for. Although the 5-sided pads help with allergies and with keeping the mattress clean, they don't generally help with comfort. 

 

I'm hoping that Celebrity will provide egg crate or foam ones on request.

I've not needed or requested a mattress topper since Celebrity got its new beds.
