Dzibanche vs Chacchoben

In 2011 we did a tour via Native Choice to Dzibanche Mayan Ruins.

We are now going back with our family (ages 40s-80s).

I see that there is a tour via Royal directly to Chacchoben, but it is only for those under 80 yrs old.

My inlaws are super active people and can out last me, but I was denied an exception.

So now I am looking at Native Choice tours.  We loved them the last time, but wanted the security of not being left when booking via the ship.

Which should we book?  Dzibanche was so interesting but appears to be a couple hours longer.

How is Chacchoben?

Thanks in Advance!

Chacchoben was very interesting.  Native choice does a good job here as well.  Not as long of a ride.

Update from Native Choice:  As for Dzibanche, we temporarily suspended operation of that tour, this is because there’s construction work in progress all along the road, this means traffic jams and extremely long rides to get to Dzibanche, at this moment we can’t predict how long it would take to get from Costa Maya to Dzibanche and for reason we can’t offer any guarantees to anyone arriving on a cruise ship. Construction work is expected to finish sometime in the first half of next year.

As for Chacchoben Vs Dzibanche, they are completely different, probably the only thing they both have in common is that both have beautiful pyramid-temples. Chacchoben is much more developed than Dzibanche although the area open to the public is smaller than Dzibanche. One more difference, climbing is restricted at Chacchoben.

Decisions Decisions.......
