Snorkling near tender pier

Paradise Restaurant has closed, I’m not sure if the stairs into the water are still there but I’d assume so.  However, the little rental spot they used to have is gone so you’d have to have your own gear.

The Eden Rock dive shop a little bit further along is probably a better option.

Be advised.  Snorkelling around that area is NOT beginner snorkelling.  Deep water and potentially strong currents.

Eden Rock is right by Paradise, like a block if that, and we went there to snorkel (and ended up booking a scuba excursion with them for another day as well).

Like the previous poster said, the water is deep instantly when you get in and there are ladders to get in and out. The times we were there, the water wasn't bad or too wavy and was an easy swim. There are dips and valleys and quite interesting to see. There's also a lot of tarpon that hang out there too. We seen quite the variety of fish and coral: Four-Eyed Butterfly fish, French Angelfish, Banded Butterflies, Squirrelfish, Smooth Trunkfish, Parrot fish, Wrasse, and plenty of others. Definitely worth going of you are looking for something close by.

HERE is my review with pictures from that day (scroll down the page a bit)

Also a short video

Hopefully this link to some FB pics works…the water conditions there vary greatly with the weather and wind direction.  Last week, waves were splashing up around waist high onto the ironshore there.  Not a day you’d want to be snorkelling in the area.
