kahuna21 Posted November 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2023 Will we have a coffee maker in a concierge suite on the Explorer?
cAPS lOCK oN Posted November 23, 2023 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2023 Yes, but it's really an espresso maker. Illy is the brand.

I had to go online to figure out which pods were caf and which were decaf. 2
jeb_bud Posted November 23, 2023 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2023 If they have the larger pods onboard you can also make a cup of coffee with the coffee makers on Explorer and Splendor.
Snowcat1 Posted November 23, 2023 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2023 Do they also have kettles available? I am a tea drinker.
Bruce61 Posted November 23, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2023 The Illy pods make a full cup coffee. No instructions so know that red are caffeinated and blue are decaf. No tea kettles or things to heat tea in the room. Tea at coffee connection or in dining rooms.
RetroRod Posted November 24, 2023 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2023 You can heat water in the espresso machine for tea. Just make sure you don’t have a used pod in the machine. We did this for three weeks on the Splendor.
jeb_bud Posted November 24, 2023 #8 Share Posted November 24, 2023 My wife brewed tea using hot water from the espresso machine. There was a thread a year or two ago that included mention of a passenger asking for and receiving a kettle. It sounded like kind of a rare event but if you ask the answer might be Yes. Snowcat1 Posted November 24, 2023 #9 Share Posted November 24, 2023 Thanks. I know I asked on Viking cruise and they brought a kettle to our cabin and teabags.
cwn Posted November 25, 2023 #10 Share Posted November 25, 2023 I asked in Jan and the answer was no. But since guess you can try but people are told no use room service.
dbali Posted November 25, 2023 #11 Share Posted November 25, 2023 Will the machine take a k cup or a nespresso pod?

They take only their own pod. They definitely have the fill your own type capsules if you really want to do tea in the room that way. Much easier to call room service or a butler if you have one.
