joseph123 Posted November 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2023 From all the videos I have viewed on the Explora I it seems as if the shops on board are extremely high-end, Cartier, Rolex, etc... Just wondering if there is not a shop that just sells general sundries, books, snacks, souvenirs, etc? Would hope they would offer something like that as on option on Explora II if not on Explora I. We had some OBC so bought a couple North Sail logo polo shirts and a Straw hat for 430 Euros. Pretty steep. Wouldn’t do it if I didn’t have OBC.
travelwide Posted November 29, 2023 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2023 Speaking of OBC, can it be used for gambling? Getting chips at the table using your room key and charging it to the room, thereby reducing your room credit?
happy cruzin 2 Posted November 30, 2023 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2023 When we were on we couldn’t use obc in the casino

Rare thebigcruiseguy Posted December 5, 2023 #9 Share Posted December 5, 2023 Does anyone have more information on the Rolex store, specifically what models have been available on sailings? It's widely known that Rolex has extremely limited inventory at retails shops (generally none), but I have heard that Rolex does stock inventory on sailings. If so, which models have you all seen?? Thanks!
Arizonasunshine Posted December 5, 2023 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2023 When we were on they had a pretty large selection. They had a number of hard to find watches, Daytonas, GMT Masters, Sky Dwellers, Submariners, Yacht Masters.

I haven’t come across any in recent years (Crystal used to do so for a short while several years ago) I was pleasantly surprised that Regent let us use OBC to buy bingo cards with any prizes being paid out in refundable OBC - so that was great

I know nothing about Rolexes but maybe this will help When we were onboard in September these ones were available for immediate sale and delivery (hopefully you can tell models from the photos) They had others on display in the window but they were not available for immediate delivery

I find that of interest. On our cruise we had older seemingly more affluent nice people just regular people. Of course lots of TA too
Rare uktog Posted December 5, 2023 #14 Share Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) Exactly if you ignore the travel agents we’ve had a few younger people but I’d say 75% are older and retired professionals Edited December 5, 2023 by uktog

None of the popular sports models are available, only basic perpetual models are for sale.

I find that of interest I’d say it was a very typical mix you’d find on any of the luxury lines; Regent, Silversea and Crystal - age is just a number and I’ve met many people much older than me who I would aspire to be as active and having as much fun at their ages. Similarly we also have younger friends who cruise I didn’t find many walkers and I can’t recall 1 mobility scooter on our cruise So I’d describe the guest mix more by saying while most are retired many are very physically active and also very socially engaged - I love chatting with fellow cruisers and I certainly met many interesting fellow guests on Explora (and on the other lines mentioned above) Re the use of models in photo shots - all lines do that and imho create an unrealistic expectation - we tend to dress down but also respect dress codes (not that Explora has one) - but some of those model shots just look ridiculous and so out of place I should add my voice to others in requesting higher chairs and lounges to aid getting up and down - fingers crossed they listen to that and make adjustments on Explora II
