NCL Embarkation Day- First Timer

Hello! I have cruised with other cruise lines, but never NCL. How does embarkation day work? For most cruise lines we have cruised with, you receive a time window for arrival when you check in online. Is this how NCL works as well? What time does embarkation begin? We are cruising from Trieste, Italy and are staying in Venice prior to the cruise. We will need to take the train in (about 2 hours), and just trying to figure out our timeline. Thanks!

Jen

while general boarding often begins around 11:30, in-person checkin usually begins at 9 AM or so.

times may be adjusted depending on the time of your departure. the times quoted above are for a 4 PM or 5 PM sail away.

You will choose a time frame, but it's not really enforced unless you're trying to force your way on board before 9am.

We flew into Venice, overnighted, then boarded in Trieste.  I chose a 12-1pm checkin based on our train schedule.  The train left around 10am, arrived Trieste around 12:15pm, then a 15 minute walk to the pier. Sadly, it was pouring down rain so we had an hr wait for a taxi !
