Rare CruisinShips Posted December 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2023 This is likely a dumb question...but when I search Celebrity's website and click on Repositioning (under Destinations) and leave the dates, duration, ships, etc. open, I only come up with 2. Am I missing something?
Rare PTC DAWG Posted December 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2023 They aren't nearly as common as Trans Ocean cruises..I'll say that. From my experience in looking myself.
Tierun Posted December 5, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2023 Try selecting transatlantic or transpacific for your destination
2chiefs Posted December 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2023 Maybe the confusion in terms? Transatlantic and Transpacific cruises, while technically are re-positioning cruises are actually classified as "transatlantic" and "transpacific" in the search engine. I think the repositioning cruises are only when a ship is changing a home port (as opposed to normal seasonal rotational repositioning). Therefore, there would be very few repositioning cruises? That's my interpretation anyway.
kokopelli-az Posted December 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2023 They have a category called Ocean Crossings that might help: https://www.celebritycruises.com/destinations/ocean-crossing-cruises?icid=dstntn__cnc_hm_other_114

patty1955 Posted December 5, 2023 #8 Share Posted December 5, 2023 We took a repositioning cruise from Boston to Miami last year so ocean crossings won't get them all.
Homosassa Posted December 5, 2023 #9 Share Posted December 5, 2023 Google "repositioning cruises." Among your choices will be an on lines travel agent that lists repositioning cruises as a separate cruise choice (and has last minute cruiser in a ticker list). MarKay525 Posted December 5, 2023 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) Look for cruises that spend the fall sailing from Boston or NYC for "leaf peeping" cruises to New England/Canada, then sail in the Caribbean in the winter. Also Alaska cruises followed by Mexican Riviera cruises in the winter. Celebrity may not be doing this, but Princess does. Good luck - we really enjoyed our NCL repositioning cruise a few years ago.
