EZ CHECK Puzzler

Disembarking from the Enchanted Princess tomorrow. Completed the EZ Check forms last week. We meet all the criteria. When the disembarkation information was distributed to our cabin, we were given luggage tags that were not for EZ CHECK; rather they were for an ordinary disembarkation.

DH went to Guest Services and they said we were not approved for EZ CHECK, that IF we were approved for it—by the airline—that we would not know until 24 hours ahead of the flight.

Really? We have used this program many times between HAL and Princess. What is going on? This had never been the protocol before.
Are we being given incorrect information, or is this something new?

GS should know by today.  If you’re on a TA, inspections sometimes play into the EZ Check

approvals.  But, you should recheck with GS again this morning.

EZCheck is at the mercy of the airlines' rules.  Airlines won't allow for check-in until 24 hours prior to your flight.  EZCheck won't/can't attempt to check you in until 24 hours prior to your flight because of the previously stated rule.  Therefore, you can't know if you were accepted for EZCheck until 24 hours prior to your flight.

We met a couple on a Caribbean cruise cruise that wanted to do EZCheck and were denied on board the ship.  We caught up with them at FLL as we also had an evening flight in the same terminal.  It turned out that one of them got randomly selected for the dreaded SSSS (secondary security check at TSA) and EZCheck wasn't able to check them in.

Thank you for your reply PacGoNow. Perhaps the issue did have to do with being on a TA.

Update: just now, we got our EZ CHECK documents hours ahead of the 24 hour information given to us. What a relief to get those tags.

Congratulations.  Was Miami an option for the EZcheck?
