Rare PMT51 Posted December 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2023 We dined twice at Fine Cut on our last cruise in Feb 2023 and were not charged extra for the tomahawk steak. Has there been a change since then? Is it now an extra charge on top?
jelayne Posted December 18, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2023 I don’t recall seeing the Tomahawk steak having a upcharge on our cruise last month. However they have raised the prices on some of the restaurants. Looking at the FC menu on the app it shows a significant upcharge for the Tomahawk Steak. billc23 Posted December 18, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2023 I saw some photos of the beef in fine cut on another thread. Doesn't look like prime to me. Not very good marbling compared to:
billc23 Posted December 18, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2023 Do they really buy 45 day dry aged prime beef or do they age it themselves? Will you be able to tell?? My reference is Pat Lafrieda. They sell great dry aged beef, 30 to 75 days, never frozen and ships quickly. A few years back the X sailing I was on had Bryant beef that was 30 days dry aged and prime. Similar quality to Whole Foods dry aged beef. Not sure where they source their beef from currently. FWIW, the Tomahawk doesn't say prime. My prior photo is A5 Kobe. Any guesses where to buy it or how to cook it?
