We received this E-mail from NCL today

Dear Valued Guests and Travel Partners,

We are delighted you have chosen to sail with us on board Norwegian Star and thank you for your loyalty. On behalf of our crew, we look forward to welcoming you aboard soon.

The embarkation location for your upcoming sailing aboard Norwegian Star has changed. Travel Partners are asked to share the below information with impacted guests.

Due to damage at the port caused by a recent storm, and in order to ensure the safest embarkation experience possible, guests will now wait for their embarkation at Costa Salguero, Pabellon n° 6. The local port authorities are doing everything in their control to ensure the best experience, however, we caution guests to expect some delays to the standard operations. As such, please arrive at the designated arrival time you selected during online check-in. All pre-selected arrival times will be strictly enforced.

Please find the address to the new location below.

COSTA SALGUERO ADDRESS:
Av. Costanera Rafael Obligado 1221
Ciudad de Buenos Aires, C1425

For directions to this location, please visit: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NJmZvAuLwN8EKGJq6

TRANSPORTATION TO THE PIER:
If you secured transportation to the pier through NCL, your drop-off location has been updated to reflect Costa Salguero, Pabellon n° 6.

We have arranged complimentary shuttles for all guests to transport them from Costa Salguero to the port where they will embark the ship.

As always, we are at your service and look forward to providing you with a truly memorable onboard experience!

Sincerely,

Norwegian Cruise Line

  • scubacruiserx2 changed the title to  Partial collapse of cruise terminal in Buenos Aires

We got the same email for our cruise, which doesn't depart until 18 Feb - I was surprised to see that going out already, as the initial articles seemed to imply that they expected the changes to be relatively temporary.

Did you read the original article that is highlighted ? It indicated that it would be until March . Quote "This will be in place starting Dec. 19 and at least until March while the terminal undergoes repairs."

  Hopefully it will be sooner.

It happened while we were there overnight after embarking (which was a slow process anyway). The storm was so bad that empty containers from cargo ships were blown around in the commercial area of the port. The roof blew down and there was water in the terminal building.
