The whole team comprises some 28 or more people.  There are no guest lecturers as such.  The specialist lecturers are part of the expedition team.  
 

Also, the group might have completely changed by next month as contracts finish and staff take a break.

Schalk Botha will be our Silver Cloud Expedition Leader from Walvis Bay Namibia to the Seychelles in March.  If I learn who else will be on the Expedition team in next month+ will post here.

Here are the Silver Cloud Expedition leaders planned from February thru June 2024, plsnote things may change prior to us boarding but these are the key Expedition team leaders planned as of today (January 11, 2024).  Have enjoyed Expedition voyages with Schalk, Marieke, Tania, Ben, and Hilman in the last five years.

   

 

From February to June the Expedition Leaders will be:

-        Michael Callaghan

-        Schalk Botha

-        Marieke Egan

 

The Assistant Expedition Leaders:

-        Alan Dominguez

-        Tania Jeken

-        Ben Luckx

 

The Expedition Program Coordinators:

-        Marc Dols Mut

-        Leslin Jones

-        Miguel Da Silva

I agree with Wes on Marieke Egan--she was an excellent Expedition Leader on our Silversea Kimberley cruise last summer.

Believe Marieke takes over from Schalk in Male and she will be with us on the remaining Grand Voyage--includes the Kimberley's--we disembark in Darwin.

We had him in Nov 2022 on the Cloud. He was a last minute substitution and he was AMAZING. He led a great team that worked so well together to ensure we had a great experience. We made 11 out of 12 opportunities - with only one last minute cancel due to quick moving fog. He deserves a lot of credit for making the trip so great. We had friends on other ships the same week who missed 1/3 of their opportunities!

Thanks so much, Wes! Any clue about who will handle the Cape to Cape (Walvis Bay)? Michael was fantastic in the Arctic and I'd love to sail with him again.
