Hi Guys

 

First time azamara cruiser here. 

 

We are booked on the Pursuit Cruise that starts on 15th January from Cape Town

 

We have an overnight stay in Port Elizabeth which leaves the next day at 1pm

 

Are cruisers allowed to stay off ship overnight at a Game Lodge for example

 

If so what time would we need to be back on the ship for a 1pm departure

 

And do we need to inform the ship we won't be back on the evening?

If you are planning to stay overnight on land you should inform guest relations. You usually have to be back on board 30 minutes before departure.

Is this something that people do a lot in the ports with overnight stays?

No, not common in my experience on 8 Azamara cruises. But guests like to have dinner in port and then come back. 

Sometimes also overnight excursions are offered.

Some countries it’s not possible due to the terms of visas the ship has got for guests

We’ve done it in Egypt so we could do a decent length tour to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, along with a lot of other passengers.
