Multiple bookings

Hi all - if we are unsure of what category cabin we may want and how much we’ll be able to spend, is there a rule about reserving two cabins for the same people on the same sailing

would it be ok to book two refundable deposit rooms on the same sailing if we are willing to lay out a refundable deposit for each?  Would this cause one of the reservations to auto cancel, or would that not happen until final payment?  (This would only be for a month or two max)

I have never had a problem doing that, I book directly on the RC website and have never had an auto cancel
