kliker Posted February 21 #1 Share Posted February 21 We're taking Regent from Vancouver to Seward late July. Would love suggestions from others that have been on same Alaska cruise in past years. Senior couple. Thanks.
kliker Posted February 21 Author #2 Share Posted February 21 Starting to book our excursions for Alaska end of July. Could use some input - so many choices! We're healthy seniors. Don't want over the top activity but can handle a bit of hiking.
labonnevie Posted February 21 #3 Share Posted February 21 Best Alaskan excursion I have had (only two Alaskan cruises) was from Juneau. Helicopter up onto Mendenhall glacier. Then hiking on the glacier, using crampons and poles. One of my most memorable excursions in 20+ cruises.
liptastic Posted February 21 #4 Share Posted February 21 We’ve enjoyed mostly all our excursions. Some that stand out to us are The deadliest Catch fishing boat tour At Ketchikan. It was superb. Taku Lodge float plane trip and salmon bake there from Juneau. At Sitka the otter quest and whale watching was really good. The train trip at Skagway was really enjoyable too. Have a great cruise, it’s always been a favourite of ours. Jean.

Agree these are tops…allong with a helicopter glacier landing. We have done the cruise 6 times…tried most of the tours now just walk around the villages and get some fresh seafood….maybe do a whale watching trip or visit one of the wildlife refuges. It is a great cruise just go prepared for rain. Alaska has a lot.
Rare mj_holiday Posted February 22 #6 Share Posted February 22 For us Misty Fords out of Ketchikan and the White Pass Railroad out of Skagway. When going into Ketchikan try to watch out the "left" side of the ship. As we were heading in I looked out an saw airplanes land right along side of us. I also highly recommend that you read "Alaska" by James Michener before you go.
