chatuga Posted March 2 #1 Share Posted March 2 As has been discussed it seems that Azamara is only line that has not made a decision on their itinerary and shared it with their passengers. I thought I had read a rumor that March 1 might be the day we heard something. please post as soon as you receive authentic information on changes as the waiting is providing additional anxiety to all involved!!

benjoon Posted March 4 #5 Share Posted March 4 We canceled our October transit and they charged us $200 Australian dollars. We were just glad to get out of it and start planning another cruise. Not sure we will book with Azamara again. We were also booked on a Black Sea cruise. We only got a FCC when they canceled it.

Riocca Posted March 6 #8 Share Posted March 6 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-68490695 Very sad news but hopefully this will push Azamara into taking action as there’s surely no way they could put passengers and crew at risk transiting this area. Riocca Posted March 6 #9 Share Posted March 6 Something is possibly about to happen as the April/May Red Sea transit cruises for both Onward and Journey have just been marked a “Pricing Unavailable”.

Melissaghoti Posted March 6 #14 Share Posted March 6 At what point will the itinerary change from the current one? Thanks, Melissa
combine Posted March 6 #15 Share Posted March 6 (edited) 11 minutes ago, Melissaghoti said: At what point will the itinerary change from the current one? Thanks, Melissa Likely it arrives Dubai on 26 April as originally scheduled and then arrives Venice on 30th May to start the cruise from Venice, that fits in with about 34/35 days mentioned. IslandThyme Posted March 7 #19 Share Posted March 7 No "ports" per se are being added, basically just fuel stops with a visit of about 6 hours in each of Mauritius, Walvis Bay Namibia, Gran Canaria, and a day in Valletta. I don't have the exact times at each stop here, but it was made clear that most likely there will be no excursions, these are just gas and go stops.

Personally, I wish they had done more stops in East and South Africa and dropped segment 10 but either way they were in a terrible position.
urlaub Posted March 7 #21 Share Posted March 7 Does anybody know how they handle cruise bookings on one or two segments ( red Sea) and not for the whole world cruise?

Won’t know for definite until there’s more information but it looks like the individual cruises (segments) have been cancelled. So two cruises for Onward and one for Journey, this strategy will allow them to avoid the Red Sea with minimal disruption to ongoing itineraries . The World cruisers were a problem in that they already onboard and destined for disembarkation in Barcelona. We are booked on Pursuit Athens to Dubai in October but fully expect for that and the following Dubai round trip cruise to be cancelled to allow the ship to avoid the Red Sea. To be honest it makes the most sense if they cancel two cruises it affects probably 1300 passengers but re working itineraries will have an affect on many more.

You're probably right. So there is the definite possiblity that Journey would dead-head it to Athens, crew only, to arrive on time for the May 29 Med cruise. That’s my guess, the 26 night Singapore to Athens cruise is showing as pricing unavailable the same as Onwards two segments. That presumes that Journey can travel the distance required with only essential stops to make Piraeus for the 29th May. 1

Rough calculation it would take 35 days at 17 knots
