Norm Smith Medal for best on ground won by young Lion Will Ashcroft who missed last year’s GF after having a knee reconstruction and who only came back in round 16.

 

Will is the son of Marcus Ashcroft who played in the Lions’ first three premierships in 2001-2003.

100,013 attended the game. A very big crowd for two non Victorian teams.

Great crowd, I had friends from Perth attending so many book for the Grand final not knowing who will be playing.

Oh noooo. We have been travelling and visiting family in Michigan and I lost track of the GF. I sort of assumed the Swans would win...but you know what they say about people who assume.

 

So, much sadness here 😞 and I guess we'll wait for next year.

Oh oh Leigh…we differ for the first time.  Have to go for Panthers, although I was really hoping Sharks would be in their spot.  Our very soon to be DIL is from The Shire, so I have to follow the Sharks, but all of this would matter nought if the Raiders were playing, as they are our local players.  I feel old whenever I see Ricky Stuart.  I used to serve him while on school tuck shop duties, although he is thankfully older than our son😅  He still remembers me refusing to serve him a buttered bun filled with Twisties.
