JimmyTheSaint Posted March 15 #1 Share Posted March 15 A cruise we have booked and paid the deposit on for 2025 has recently been reduced in price, by $40 per person. I think I might have read sometime ago about Carnival having a policy of refunding the price difference. Does anyone have any experience of this or am I just making up something I wished would happen?
PaulieG13 Posted March 15 #2 Share Posted March 15 If your booking is eligible, fill out the form at the link below. Bookings done under casino offers or some of the other "sales" will generally not be granted a price reduction approval. https://www.carnival.com/core/requestforms/priceprotection.aspx If for some reason the mods remove the link to the Carnival form, just do a google search for "Carnival price protection". Consider yourself fortunate if they give you credit/refund for the difference in price. Prices dropping is mostly a thing of the past. A lot of us on here miss the days where booking 1+ years out almost guaranteed a price drop before sailing date.

n6uqqq Posted March 15 #5 Share Posted March 15 I see early saver all the time, it is the past guest that has been lost to history. I would call for the price reduction. I have filled out the form twice and received zero response back.

The one I have used in the past always told me to fill out the form. I have also read on here about how much attention some of y'all get from your PVP. Guess they are all not cut from the same cloth! I don't have a PVP, I just call the regular 800 number or my big box travel agent if I have moved the booking there.
bowen9475 Posted March 15 #8 Share Posted March 15 I would also call. I’ve recently seen two small price reductions for our cruise this coming June. I filled out the price protection form after the first one and got denied. I called Guest Services to ask for more information and the person I spoke to was able to change the price. A couple days later, when I saw the second reduction, I called again and they were able to apply the lower price.

I was a shocked as the next guy to see not 1 but 2 reductions. This is for the Mardi Gras.

I got one about a month ago for about $200 pp and it's gone done again by about $180pp. I filled out the form for the 2nd but nothing has changed yet. For the first one, they just dropped the amount due. BTW, this is next October's 16 day trans Panama Canal cruise on the Spirit.
vcmds Posted August 8 #12 Share Posted August 8 I have five cabins booked on the Panorama in February. I saw the price had gone down, called the 800 number, and the representative on the phone gave me the new price on all five cabins. I didn't have to fill out any kind of paperwork.

I just called my PVP and he took care of it. I have an early saver booking so they will honor all price reductions up until I think it’s 3 days. kdr69 Posted August 9 #15 Share Posted August 9 It happens for "some" Early Saver fares but i believe you need to be paid in full to recieve OBC otherwise they just reprice your cruise. I have had multiple claims. What should I do once I find a lower rate? Complete a price protection claim form. If the request meets the price protection requirements, we will process the fare difference and send you an email confirmation within 2 business days of your request. If the booking is not paid in full – the cruise fare will be re-priced. If the booking is paid in full – the difference of fare will be issued as a non-refundable gross on board credit

Tryingtocruise Posted August 9 #17 Share Posted August 9 Thanks all. They didn't respond to my form submission within the 48 hours, so I just called and it the call was less than 5 mins. They dropped the price by $360 total and said if it goes down more, call again. 🙂
