mh5678 Posted March 17 #1 Share Posted March 17 Today is check in day for the May 1-11 Celebrity Edge cruise from Honolulu to Vancouver. For some strange reason 2 pm is the earliest check in time even for suite guests. It has been confirmed with Celebrity Concierge that 2 pm is the earliest slot available for everyone. Has anyone encountered this before? Normally there are check in slots starting at 11 am. Wondering if it might be because of the late departure time of 11:59 pm or related to immigration as the ship will be arriving from Australia? jelayne Posted March 17 #2 Share Posted March 17 Probably a bit of both.
leaveitallbehind Posted March 17 #3 Share Posted March 17 (edited) This is the second leg of a transpacific relocation cruise originating on April 14 in Sydney. It is not likely due to immigration concerns. The delay for boarding times may be the result of a planned Coast Guard inspection, which is done when ships that have been sailing outside of the US first reaches a US port. This takes place when the ship arrives in port and needs to be completed prior to the next departure. In this case that would be Honolulu prior to departing for Vancouver. The late scheduled departure likely is to accommodate this. This happened with us similarly, and was the explanation, with RCCL Ovation in April 2019 awaiting departure from Honolulu to Vancouver as the ship arrived from Sydney.
