wintertexancruiser Posted March 18 #1 Share Posted March 18 Can anyone suggest a good tour company to see the sights in Copenhagen. Our cruise ship is only offering one excursion. Hopefully one that is convenient from a cruise port. We will be on the NCl Star in October. Thanks in advance
hallasm Posted March 18 #2 Share Posted March 18 October is low season and I doubt it is possible to find a large selection of excursions - probably that's why the cruise ship only has one excursion. Copenhagen is a very easy DIY location. What are your interests? One option is to book a taxi that can do a private taxi guided tour. My preference activity is the Canal Tour. But many options,
ustowas Posted March 18 #3 Share Posted March 18 Hallasm I was wondering if there are any updates on the free electric shuttle at Ocean Quay. We are stopping May 30th on the Neptune and I can not find information regarding a shuttle that is more recent than 2022. Plan is to board harbor bus 199 at Orientkaj St. (Orientkaj) station and make a round trip. Your help will be appreciated

Bus 25 On Cruise days and 164 All dys - need to get tricket - in the bus only cash, App or Copenhagen Card. There is a kiosk at Oceankaj Selling trickets but expect long queue. Same ticket for bus to Orientkaj and the Harbot bus as well as Metro. Price for 2 zones DKK 24 (one way) to city.

hallasm Posted March 20 #9 Share Posted March 20 Thanks for the clarification - as mentioned easy DIY - Copenhagen has a lot to offer - museums, castles and sights - if you want inspiration, I'd be happy to help.

Here some DIY options: Copenhagen is very walkable - the center is compact and it is safe to walk around.Good sights are Rosenborg Castle, the Royal Castle Amalienborg - guard change at noon and museums. Christiansborg Castle (The Parliament). Nyhavn and canal tour. Tivoli Gardens. Also HoHO bus. A good museum is Glyptoteket. Also good shopping options - Illum, Illums Bolighus, Royal Copenhagen Store and George Jensen - all located at Amagertorv (pedestrian street - Strøget). And some more inspiration in this topic:

Packman1000 Posted April 24 #16 Share Posted April 24 We dock at Oceankaj and would like to take a canal tour, maybe Netto Boats. What would be the best way to get there?

Mehroswitha Posted May 3 #18 Share Posted May 3 Just home from our third visit to Copenhagen and were blown away by the newly rebuilt Museum of Danish Resistance (original one destroyed in disastrous fire a few years ago). It vividly and with great nuance portrays the resistance movement in the broader context of life in Denmark during WW II. I strongly recommend it. Located in Churchill Park, not far from Little Mermaid; allow about two hours for visit. For anyone looking for a hotel: We always stay at Admiral Hotel, originally built three hundred (or more) years ago as a grain shipping warehouse. Well-located, spotless, quiet and comfortable, excellent service, not over-the-top expensive, and with incredible character and charm. There's an extensive remodeling project going on at the moment, but it had no impact at all on our stay. We used Hamlet Tours for a delightful out-of-town van tour to Roskilde, the ancient Viking capital. I believe they also offer other itineraries in and around town.
