?Transportation to ship from NY Port Authority

On Sept. 3rd we are taking the Peter Pan bus from Boston to the NY Port Authority bus terminal. Does anyone know what transportation options (and costs) are available to get to the Norwegian Crown terminal from the bus terminal?

The Port Authority is not that far from the cruise terminal. PA is at 40th and 8th - cruise terminal is at 55th and 12th. If you didn't have luggage you probably could just walk it (about 15 blocks), but I would suggest just getting a cab - I don't know what the rates are anymore, but it should cost you less than $20.00.

Port Authority Bus terminal is at 41 street and 8th Avenue. The port is at about 50th street and 12th Avenue. Its a little under a mile to the port.

 

By foot- free walking time 15-20 minutes.

 

Cab about 10 minutes less than $10.00

 

NY City Bus up 8th avenue to 49 street cross town bus to 12th avenue

cost is $2.00 per person if you get a metrocard at the bus terminal -includes free transfer- bus take exact change(coins only) or metrocard. probably the same 15-20 minutes as walking

You don't want to be pulling luggage thru NYC Streets and intersections to save a few dollars getting to the ship..especially crossing the West Side Highway. Just come out the 8th street or 10th street doors and grab a cab..you'll be there quick and it won't cost much. Usually $5-$7 dollars each way.

Did you look into the Entertainment Tours bus that leaves from South Station? It drops you off directly at the pier.

Have them drop you off accross the West Side Highway (northbound side) - otherwise they'll get snarled in traffic and cost $$$. Easy thing to cross the street.

Thought the Crown docked at Port Liberty or whatever over in New Jersey.

If so, rather a long cab ride.

For NYC piers, Entertainment Tours is great deal. Maybe they go over to Jersey allso.
