Marseilles stop cancelled in French Daze and Ibiza Nights itinerary

Just received notification that Marseilles has been dropped from our itinerary, same excuse as Toulon - feedback was that sailors wanted more time at sea. I find this very strange, particularly as the cruises haven’t even begun yet, so how can they have had feedback. Could it be more to so with a spat with the local authorities in that area, Marseilles and Toulon are only about 20 miles apart?
Bit disappointed but I’ve cruised the Med before so not overly bothered, I feel for those coming from farther afield who were hoping for a real taste of Mediterranean cities and culture.

I don't know what's going on--we had a port canceled on the Miami to Barcelona crossing as well...and we are getting our port charges refunded as loot.  I realize that the amount is very small, but we paid in cash and should be refunded as cash, not ship funny money that we already have a ton of......

Port charge refunds should definitely be cash, that's not right to make it loot.

I do wonder if the French are being problematic with environmental requirements. That seems to be a thing in a few countries lately and countries that Virgin is now avoiding.

Let them hear it!!!

Virgin Voyages is quickly becoming an unpleasant joke.

When the sailings were cheap it was ok and tolerable to look past some items. They are no longer cheap and this is far from being acceptable. 🤬😡

They canceled Toulon on mine as well so good luck with that

Seems like they are cancelling a lot.

Transposing itineraries (not there fault - red sea)

But:

Dominican Republic on the Dominican Daze

Toulon...

Marseilles...

Overnight in Mykonos...

The entire 2025 Australia season...

Virgin is going down the toilet 🚽🪠.

No wonder they needed another round of funding...

I wonder if maybe the Olympics and the torch bearing ceremonies are what's actually causing the change from French ports into sea days.  The whole "Sailors feedback" thing makes no sense unless the feedback is that cruisers would rather not be in port on days with an overwhelming amount of land tourists also milling about and prices skyrocketing.
