AC2 Posted April 1 #1 Share Posted April 1 Does anyone know if Oceania will exchange GBP for MXN pesos once on board the ship?
clo Posted April 1 #2 Share Posted April 1 I can't imagine why they would do this so I'll be watching this thread for sure.

Torquer Posted April 1 #5 Share Posted April 1 I was going to say a definitive no. On our recent cruise to South America it was clearly stated in Currents that they do not do this. However, I decided to google it and came across this FAQ from a few years ago, so now I am not sure: https://oceaniacruises.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005405954-Can-I-exchange-my-money-for-local-currency
EJL2023 Posted April 1 #6 Share Posted April 1 I don’t believe they even did USD for MX Pesos on our Caribbean cruise earlier this year.
osandomir Posted April 1 #7 Share Posted April 1 (edited) Some years ago on the Asian cruise it was arranged for local bank representatives to come on board so we could get local currency before going ashore. They also were there to exchange it back prior to departure. Though, it probably was before the credit cards started to be accepted everywhere. Rare vlthom Posted April 2 #8 Share Posted April 2 Years back, O did some currency exchange, even buying back local currency (bills only) if one wound up with more than needed. But that seems to be one of those services that's gone away. I can't blame them; however, it was really nice that they did that. On our most recent cruise, they would not handle any currency other than U.S.
