Alas my sarcasm at the great and good eluded you my apologies, but I was referring to most threads on here usually degenerate into cutbacks on p&o.

I recognised the sarcasm. 😎

Surely they are doing the cabins up a bit in terms of soft furnishings? The casino is the least of the issues

Seems to have been a lot of work in the public areas, let's just hope the cabins got a spruce up, but I'm not holding my breath...

I hope something has happened in the rooms.  Our sofa bed collapsed when I sat on it in January and they "repaired" it with some bricks and slats of wood.  I hoped the next inhabitants didn't need it as a bed as it could have become a princess and the pea moment for someone.

Our carpets were not good at all and bed settee really worn. It would be really bad if they didn't spruce up the cabins. They must be, surely ????

Our sofa and bed were fine last year, carpets a bit grubby but probably didn't warrant replacing.

The balcony furniture was tatty, but I think they replaced a lot of it soon after.

I will find out on Friday.. Woo Hoo...

Of course, I won't do an in depth report, but will give an overview and happy to answer any questions.

Hopefully someone on tomorrows cruise might give us an update.

Have to agree. We were on the last cruise and the cabins did definitely need a bit of tlc. We thought everywhere else looked pretty good but we didn't go looking tbh.

It seems the wonderful La Voix is on board from tomorrow and is going to do a floor by floor vlog showing the changes and will post it on the site that can't be mentioned.

Unfortunately this won't tell us much about the cabins though.

Yes....Our sofa was at such an angle that you couldn't even sit on it. Cabins definitely need some attention. 🤞

Still an enjoyable cruise, as they all are!

Seems like promising news...

La Voix has posted and her cabin has been refurbished with new carpets etc.

So at least some of the cabins have had some attention, she is on deck 8.

Have a great cruise Andy. Are you doing Club dining this time?

Thank you.

Yes, 2nd sitting, table for 8 as we are going with family for the first time and all the challenges that come with that...

We have a GF vegetarian, 2 smokers and 2 very fussy eaters, so should be fun😂

Apparently the smoking area on deck 16 has been removed, leaving the only smoking areas being outside the Live Lounge and Java on deck 7.

We don't smoke, but it's a long way down from the pools etc for those that like a quick puff...

Yes, I have just seen that on the other side. Reports are;-

New tables and chairs at the sunset bar and smoking no longer allowed.

Smoking is on deck 7 by java and live lounge.

New wrought iron tables and orange cushions, and more tables added to the (old) smoking area.

image.thumb.png.bb03565fd6e655903b3f34ddc228719d.png

New carpets onboard, including cabins.

Something has been done to the suites but it's not stated what.

Bitscoff carpet and some furniture. The big job being the repair to the damaged hull. Reports not sure if lifeboat available to be fitted and assumes it would have been ready. (Was there mention at the time on here that it would have to be fitted at Southampton?)

There are a few photos but though I have borrowed this one (and now can't find the name to credit the person, sorry), I'm not sure what the rules are for using other peoples photos.

We will be in a suite for the first time so this sounds promising

I'm impressed that P&O ships carry bricks...just in case.

Lets hope they don't start building cabin walls with them or my magnetic hooks are gone.

It was a mystery to us too. Actually when I say bricks they were brick shaped aerated concrete but still no idea what they were doing onboard.
