How much is customary to tip the porters at the cruise port in Rome who take your luggage?

When in Rome, or Civitavecchia, do as.......

Zero.  I never even saw the porters at Civitavecchia, the luggage was just taken and no one stood around waiting for me to get the hint.

And there is no expectation of a tip for a taxi either, though most people round up to avoid the change.

Zero, please keep Europe as "zero-tip zone"

Porters have a salary and their incomes are based on a salary not on tips.

As a rule, in Europe just tip those ones who have done something very special. Something that may not be included.

For the rest.... service is always included in the price (in this case in your cruise fare).

It applies for taxi too... for driving, taxi price.

If they speak your language, they help you with lugagge, they gave you some important information and so on.... 2-3 euro. 5 would be too much.
