Catalina island from long beach

I am excited as i didn’t realize there is a ferry to catalina island from long beach and i believe san pedro. Is it a scenic ferry ride? I assume it stops in a convenient location? This would be great and almost like having another port stop.

As far as scenery, its open seas as you sail over to Catalina.

 

The ferry docks at what is generally the southern end of the small town. The town is very easily walked.
