Recommended Posts

We are taking a back-to-back cruise out of Boston in Aug/Sept. So, we need a place to park our van for the 20 days. Are there any places we can park for that long time?

Parking at the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal is a popular subject over on the Easy Coast Departures board. The closest parking lots to the Terminal all run $30/day, which is decent when compared to Manhattan and Brooklyn's $45/day. Given the length of your stay, maybe look into a Logan Park 'n Fly package to save a few $$$s per day? Don't know if that will help or not though.

For our 7 day in mid-July, we are simply showing up and trying each of the three closest lots and will park at the first one with availability.

So Black Falcon is the ship terminal for Princess and others?

Yup. the official Boston Cruise Ship terminal is called the Flynn Black Falcon Cruiseport Terminal, 1 Black Falcon Ave, Boston, MA, just off the I90 and across the channel from Logan airport.  Our last Princess trip used it, as will our next Princess trip this July.

None of the lots near the cruise port are covered. Only the garage in the seaport area is, but they want cruisers to park on the roof.

Thank you

Thanks for the heads up on that. If we're forced to use the roof, there is little incentive to use the garage over one of the nearby open lots, we'll just stick with either the C1 lot or the "official" lot on Fargo. I had read a post here on CC from someone who had parked in the garage on a cruise last summer, and they reported at the time that they had spoken with the garage managers and yes, cruisers were welcome to use the garage but were asked to park on the "upper floors", no mention of being restricted to the roof. Not that it means much, but when I look at satellite views of the garage from both Google and Bing, the garage roof is completely empty of cars, not a single one.

It's been years since I parked in the garage, but I was directed to the roof. Also, in the years since I did that, the Black Falcon area has been built up a lot more, so more people using the garage on a daily basis. I believe this is why the official cruise port parking is no longer using it.
