Casino comps off very minimal slot play helps. A lot. Southwest miles. Friends and family rates with NCL cause I used to work there and still have friends there. Living in a small place with an old car and being generally incredibly cheap in my every day life. IKEA. Mostly, not having kids. 😂😂

Damnit that last part…..

@TxTeach79....fantastic pics!

In my working days I too was an early riser.  When I retired it took me almost a year to stop waking up at 4:30 am...now it is more like 8 am....ENJOY your time on the ship it looks wonderful.

I 👤  I used to get up at 5:30, I've been retired for 15 years and now rise at 6 ish. Apparently I did it too long, not to mention I was on call 24/7 for multiple years except when I was out of the country.

We are taking one big bag we’ll be checking and one carry on full of all needed essentials and clothes to get us through a few days! Oh, and air tags. #LESSONLEARNED

We bought air tags after your Barcelona experience. I’m sure you are responsible for the sale of a few of them!

My mom's ordeal before passing changed my perspective, I guess. She laid in a nursing home bed in a diaper, unable to speak except for gibberish, for several years. By the time of her funeral, I was all cried out. Doesn't lesson the shock though.💞💞💞

I was working as a pool manager and got a call from the family doctor. I never expected my mother would die before my inlaws, age difference, I left on the first plane the next morning.  It was a few days, but it was hard being the oldest. Her funeral wasn't the worst, it was my father marrying my cousins ex wife a year or so later. I understood his need but she tried and almost succeeded it totally separating him from us. I hope this doesn't happen to you with your family.

Thanks to everyone who's following along! It really does mean a lot, this time more than usual.

For those of you not over on The Tribe forum, I'll keep this very short here because it's not what I want to dwell on on the LIVE, but my dad passed away yesterday. My mom and I are very close and we've gotten a ton done in the whirlwind last 24 hours, and i've been sternly informed that my dad, who grew up on a caribbean island, loved the sea, and introduced me to cruising back in '88 on the OG Celebration, would haunt me for all eternity if I canceled this trip.

SO... ahem.... I'm keeping this as fun and positive and summer vibetastic as possible, even if I'm sure I might go in a different direction than you're used to occasionally. You never know how the drink package is gonna hit.

But yeah. Thank y'all a ton for sailing along with me 🙂

So very sorry for your loss, may the memories of him keep him close to your heart.

Limoncello Spritz😋.  May have had one or maybe it was closer to six one night🤣.

My favorite drink the whole cruise.

I barely got caught up on this one, and I'm already behind on your next adventure!

Your loss and grief was felt from the beginning. There were definitely moments on the cruise that served as a reminder of your dad and the memories you shared together. I hope that the experience was cathartic overall, and that you walked away glad that your mom encouraged you to sail and grateful for the experience. Many hugs. For sure too, you also had moments of joy and relaxation. The ship was beautiful to see and experience through your eyes and humor. Thank you again for another live.

In the process of "thinking" of the Venezia, or the Celebration Carnival ships, and I'll try to catch up with your review with pictures, which I like as well.

Thank you for another great review! I’m behind on reading on all my favorite reviewers since I was on a cruise for most of May to the British Isles so doing some catching up! I’m seriously looking at booking a cruise on the Venezia after seeing all the beautiful pics you have posted. Now I’m off to read up on your Pearl adventure!

My condolences on the passing of your dad.
