I know I can take a rideshare but are taxis readily available as well to the port of Miami? If so are they in a specific spot?

Yes.  The taxi rack is outside the main entrance to Miami BrightLine station at NW 1st Avenue and NW 6th Street.

NW 6th Street passes under the station building, taxi cabs are usually waiting there, in my experience.  Uber and Lyft also drop passengers there

(Note for the grammar police. I usually write out numbers under ten, but the local convention is to use the numbers. So, I did.)

Typically there are a few there. I remember around 2008-2012 Miami was full of taxis. Medallions were costing $75k+, and downtown and Miami Beach had yellow cabs everywhere.

Not many these days, the Brightline station is one of the few places you will regularly see them parked.
