Can OBC be used to offset casino spending?

I have alot of OBC.  Will it be applied towards casino charges to my folio?  The fine print of my OBC offer says "Onboard spending money must be used on the single voyage that it was awarded in connection with, is not redeemable for cash, cannot be used in the casino, is not applicable during the land portion of cruisetours, and expires at the end of that voyage."

 

When I cruised with other cruise lines the fine print was the same (cannot use OBC for casino) but their invoicing system didn't discriminate charges to my folio, and the OBC was just deducted off ANY purchases charged to my account (casino, gratuities, excursions).

Princess is the same - anything goes against OBC ... for now at least

This is my educated guess:  If you use the OBC on slot play and spend it down they don't care but if you were to try and load it into a slot machine then cash out immediately they would.  I think it is there to prevent those from using the casino as a way to convert OBC to cash.

You don't have to work that hard.

You can put it in, play a little & cash out.

Unnecessary to play it down.

The answer is yes and no. For slots or table games when you charge play to your on board folio it will net against any credit (OBC) balance. However, you must play. You can not charge play to your on board account and then just cash out like using an ATM. If you do this your account will be locked. There are no service charges when charging to your on board account. Ask for $200, you receive $200 in slot play or chips.
